Features

  • Write Obsidian wikilinks, embeds, callouts and properties.
  • Organize Markdown notes and knowledge relationships while preserving Obsidian syntax.

When to use it

Useful for personal knowledge bases, project notes and turning scattered material into linked documents.

Before you start

Requires a readable and writable Markdown notes folder. View Obsidian-specific syntax in Obsidian.

Usage example

Follow this illustrative workflow, replacing file names and goals with your own project details.

Create an entry point for project notes

What to prepare
An Obsidian folder with project descriptions, meeting notes and task notes.
Workflow
Read existing files, add an index and useful wikilinks, and preserve original content and file names.
Expected deliverables
index.md, resolvable links and properties, and a list of changed files.

Recommended prompts

Replace the bracketed placeholders, then paste into an AI tool with this skill installed. Prompts follow the interface language; copying preserves the full text and line breaks.

Start the task
Use the obsidian-markdown skill to organize [notes folder]. Read existing project notes, create index.md with topic-based entry points and add wikilinks to actual related files. Follow existing conventions for properties and callouts while preserving original text and file names. Do not link to nonexistent notes. List changed files and check Markdown and Obsidian-specific syntax.

Review the result
Review link destinations, embed paths, properties and callout syntax. Confirm original text and attachment references remain intact. Identify isolated notes needing content without creating empty files merely to satisfy links.
